The Consolidated PBY "Catalina"was probably one of the most beautiful aircraft in World War II, especially as seen by downed fliers at sea. Considered obsolete before the war, many variants of this airplane were produced thoughout the conflict. This particular aircraft is the "5a" which could operate from both land and sea. The file which you may download by clicking on the PBY in the picture includes both a land and sea based version.
This was one of my first creations and remains one of my most popular. Taking nearly three months to complete, I had the help of my father who was both a quality control inspector at Consolidated and a crewmember on the famous bird during the war years.
